Americas Favorite Libraries Nominate Yours Today!
Americas Favorite Libraries Nominate Yours Today! (0) Happy National Library Week! This year it falls on the week of April 9-15, 2017. To celebrate these wonderful institutions, the librarians, and the staff who make them amazing, weâd like to shine a light on the best-loved libraries in America . . . and we need your help to do it! Submit the name of your favorite library in our form below and tell us why they are special to you. Well accept nominations from now through April 16, 2017. Weâll release a list of the top picks later in April. Any library that brings you joy is in the running! It could be your old elementary school library where you fell in love reading. It might be a hidden gem like like Hanapepe Public Library (HI) which is tiny but active in its community, the big and beautiful like the Beinecke Rare Book Manuscript Library at Yale University (CT), which holds world treasures on its shelves. Maybe itâs in its own category like the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at Ohio State University (OH). Could it have historical significance like Sturgis Library in Barnstable (MA), the oldest library in the country? Whatever the reason, whatever the library, we want to hear about it! Nominations have closed. Thank you for everyone for your submissions! Get Involved After voting, visit the official National Library Week website at http://www.ilovelibraries.org/national-library-week and learn how to get involved and show your support for our libraries. It could be as small as learning about issues that face libraries today or telling your favorite librarian how much you appreciate them, to actively joining the local Friends of the Library group. Also, to keep up with the celebration on social media, the American Library Association asks supporters to follow âI Love Librariesâ on on Facebook and Twitter and the hashtags #NationalLibraryWeek and #LibrariesTransform. © 2001-2017 EasyBib ® a Chegg ® service.
